The Republic of Kazakhstan

The Republic of Kazakhstan is located in Central Asia and covers an area of 2,724,900 km2 (1,049,150 mi2), roughly the area of Western Europe. Kazakhstan is the second largest republic of the former Soviet Union, after Russia, and the ninth largest country in the world. It borders Russia to the north, the Caspian Sea to the west, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic to the south and China to the east.

Kazakhstan is the biggest economy in the region and rich in natural resources, most notably oil and natural gas, but also  minerals, including iron ore, chromium, uranium, copper, nickel, cobalt, gold and many others. In addition, Kazakhstan has considerable agricultural potential for both grain and livestock production.
