ING Korea appoints Dong Hyun Ahn as head of Financial Markets and Daechan (Daniel) Ahn as head of Sectors

Dong Hyun will oversee all sales and trading activities for ING in Korea, while Daechan will lead the management of corporate and financial institution client portfolios across all industry sectors.

Seoul, South Korea, 15 January 2026 ING Korea today announced the promotion of Dong Hyun Ahn as head of Financial Markets and the appointment of Daechan (Daniel) Ahn as head of Sectors, reinforcing its wholesale banking capabilities in the South Korean market.

Dong Hyun will oversee all sales and trading activities for ING in Korea, delivering innovative financial solutions to corporate and institutional investor clients while ensuring robust risk management and regulatory compliance. His remit includes market trend analysis, trading book management, and proactive risk and compliance monitoring.

With over 20 years of experience in derivatives sales, Dong Hyun has led businesses across foreign exchange, interest rates, commodities, and credit derivatives since joining ING in 2005. Recognized as “Dealer of the Year” by the Korea Forex Club shortly after joining ING, he has consistently driven growth and innovation in Korea’s financial markets. He has cultivated a strong network of corporate clients, asset managers, securities firms, and insurers in Korea, delivering tailored strategies through close collaboration with ING’s global network.

Prior to ING, Dong Hyun worked in corporate sales at Citibank’s Treasury department and began his career at Korean French Banking Corporation (SOGEKO), a joint venture between Société Générale and Hanjin Group. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Korea University.

Joining ING on 8 December 2025, Daechan will lead the management of corporate and financial institution client portfolios across all industry sectors. He will drive the implementation of ING’s global sector strategy in Korea and support clients’ sustainable growth through sector-driven insights and initiatives.

Daechan brings over 20 years of banking experience. Most recently, he served as head of Tech Division, Corporate Banking Group at Citibank Korea, managing relationships with leading companies in strategic sectors such as technology, automotive, EV batteries, and construction. He has collaborated with local branches across more than 70 countries and was recognised as “Global Best Parent Account Manager” in 2018.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University and began his career as an engineer at Applied Materials Korea before earning his MBA from INSEAD.
