What is a Power of Attorney?
A Power of Attorney (PoA) is required to give a legal entity the authority to act on behalf of another company. The Corporate Agent PoA covers this authorisation. The current Corporate Agent PoA only covers a limited number of transactional services, while the new PoA enables users to do more in InsideBusiness. The new PoA needs to be signed by the account holder granting the authorisation.
In the new PoA, 3 sections are added:
- Services regarding banking accounts, products, and services
- Services regarding viewing and updating client information contained in ING's records
- Services regarding communication from ING to client
What’s new in the PoA
New PoA with 3 new sections
We added 3 new sections regarding services and communication (sections 1.5-1.7). For example, these new sections grant you the power to receive communication on behalf of the group entities under your InsideBusiness subscription.

Why do I have to sign the updated PoA? What is the consequence of not updating the existing PoA?
Signing the updated PoA ensures your access to our latest digital banking features. The existing PoA is still valid, but we strongly recommend you update them so you won't miss out on the new feature.
What if I do not want to sign?
There's no further impact on your existing PoA. However, you won't be able to use our latest digital banking features. For future entities they will need to sign the new PoA and the old one is no longer available.
How long is the new PoA valid for?
Until revocation by the account holder.
Do I need to sign the PoA again when our legal representatives changes? Will the signed PoA still be valid?
The powers of the legal representatives who sign a PoA at ING are checked upon the moment of signing. If approved, the PoA remains valid until revocation of the PoA. Thus no need to re-sign a PoA in case of changes in your legal representatives.
How do I know my version of the PoA? Do I already have the new one?
The Opens in a new tabOpens a pdfnew PoA added 3 new sections (section 1.5-1.7), if your PoA does not have these sections, then it is not the new one.
If I sign the new PoA, will this overwrite my existing PoA in the countries, or will you send me a withdrawal notice for the existing PoA ?
This PoA regulates authorisation of one entity to another entity. Compared with the previous PoA, the new PoA grants additional rights to support the new functions. If a PoA needs to be revoked, you can send an explicit request to your Client Services team.
Can I access accounts and products in InsideBusiness if no PoA has been signed?
No, a signed PoA is a prerequisite to access accounts and products via InsideBusiness.
