ING Global Bank of the Year 2016 (The Banker)
ING Wholesale Banking in

Taiwan

Taiwan hosts a well-developed capitalist economy. It runs a large trade surplus, and holds one of the world’s largest foreign reserves, behind China, Japan and Russia. The service sector now makes up over 70% of the economy with traditional labour-intensive industries steadily being moved offshore. These industries have now been replaced with more capital and technology-intensive industries. Exports are led by electronics, machinery, and petrochemicals. It trades mainly with China, Hong Kong, US and Japan.

In 1991, ING Bank enlarged its international network to include the Taipei branch by taking over Lloyds Bank Taipei, which had been operating in Taiwan since 1981. ING's Taipei branch has been granted an all-inclusive wholesale banking license that incorporates a DBU and an OBU. This comprehensive license allows us to offer a variety of products in the fields of financial markets, structured lending, cash management and corporate finance from a single platform. As specialists in the wholesale banking business, we provide sound structured solutions.

We take great pride in the strength of our experience and knowledge of the technology sector. Backed by the expansive network ING offers, this has allowed us to provide structured solutions to the highest echelons of local conglomerates, multinationals and financial institutions. We look forward to supporting your business with our know-how and financial products.
