Chino-Dutch economic ties

On 14-16 October, the prime minister of China will visit the Netherlands. To mark this occasion, ING's Economics Department made a short factsheet on the Chino-Dutch economic ties.

China is the world's largest exporter and the second largest importer of goods. The Netherlands ranks 7th as exporter and 10th as importer. While the Netherlands has large overall surplus on its trade balance (7% of GDP), it has a substantial trade deficit with China. Data analysis points at opportunities for Dutch exporters. Currently there are various Dutch export categories, like cheese, that underperform on the Chinese markets.
