The first step towards iDEAL 2.0

After 15 years, iDEAL is being upgraded. We are continually improving and innovating to keep serving the customers of your webshop in a way that is secure and easy to use. We are also seeing that more and more customers continue to want to pay online with iDEAL, therefore new functionalities will be added to iDEAL in the near future.

The first step: switching to a new platform

To be able to use iDEAL 2.0 you will first need to switch to our new platform. You will get access to our new portal, where you have an improved and easier overview of all your iDEAL transactions. What you need to do for this switch depends on how you are currently connected to our iDEAL platform and if you use a Payment Service Provider (PSP).

Below you find a short overview of what you need to change in your webshop. All the details of the migration can be found in the manual ‘Migration step by step’, which you can download from this page or in your current iDEAL dashboard.

Do you have an iDEAL Advanced connection?

Then you will migrate no later than June 15th (previously April 30th). After this your transactions will go through our new iDEAL platform. Below a short overview of the steps to take and all the details you can find in the manual, chapter 2.

  • To start the migration you will get admin user access to the new portal, using the link from the e-mail that you have received in April. The link from the e-mail you have received in February, has expired. Did you not receive an e-mail or are you not able to change the password? Please send an e-mail to ideal@ing.com with your connection number and admin user e-mail address. If you have gained access to the new portal before April, you can proceed with the migration.
  • You adjust your iDEAL settings in your webshop. You do this by adjusting the MerchantID, the URL and the signing certificate.
  • Test the new connection in your test/sandbox environment.
  • After this you can start with the new portal.

Note: adding more users (‘User Management’) and automatic reports via email (‘reporting’) will be added by 30 April. We will notify you via e-mail if these features are ready. If you don’t need these features, you can start migrating as soon as you have the admin user access.
